Points are posted

You can now click on the points tab to view the current seasons point standings. Big thanks to Cory Holloway, once again, for helping me get this setup. You can click on the tabs below the table to view the yearly standings for each class. I have also added a tab so you can see how the points were broken down for this weeks race. I will add a new tab after each race, so you will be able to go back and see who finished where, who got the TQ bonuses, etc., for each individual race.

I am going to try and get a new club member list set up, complete with car numbers, in the next few days. Cory has given me the tools to set that up the way that I wanted to now, so you should see that very soon. Thanks again to Cory for your help!

Race #1 is in the books.....

Race #1 is in the books, and by my estimation, was a great success. Thanks to all that came out to race and also to those who came to watch us race, despite the threat of rain. It was great to see some new faces at the track, and hopefully we will see a few more at the next race as well. We had 23 cars across three classes, which is very encouraging for me, and I think we will see even larger fields as the weather becomes more predictable.

IQSR has a very competitive club, and we enjoyed great racing across all the classes. I was particularly impressed with the Sprint Car guys, and to see them run the first two heats of the year caution free, and with 6 out of 8 cars running within 0.1 of a second of each other certainly was a great way to start the year! The Sportsman and Bush racing was as exciting as ever, and both series are going to be very tough this year. Keep your eye out for "Cookie's Race Recap" in the coming days. I have the points figured as well, and will have them posted very soon.

Thanks to everyone who helped get the track ready to race on Saturday, and also to those that helped in the booth and with tech inspection. A huge thank you to Kristie Strubbe for going to get the printer ink for me, you saved the day!! I think things ran fairly smooth for the first time out this year, and hopefully it only gets better. Congrats to the feature winners, Jerry Brawner in Sprint Cars, Todd Holloway in Sportsman, and Ron Strubbe in Bush, and thanks again to all the racers.

We are going to race tomorrow!!

Well, mother nature is trying to make the first race interesting for us. I have watched the weather over the last couple days, and I think we are going to get a window to get the full show in tomorrow. The rain should be moved out before tomorrow morning, and as near as I can tell, will hold off tomorrow afternoon. The temperature is going to be around 70 degrees, and we should have some sun in the morning, so the track will dry quickly, and allow for plenty of track time tomorrow morning to get those final adjustments made before qualifying at 12:00 pm sharp.

Just a reminder to all to be very careful when getting parked and set up tomorrow. While the track and infield drain very well, there are going to be some areas around the outside of the track that are going to be wet and muddy. Please avoid parking in a area that is questionable, as we don't want any damage to the park property.

I hope this doesn't turn out to be my first bad decision as the new president, but I think it is best for the club to not get behind this early in the season if we can avoid it. I am looking forward to getting the season kicked off, and to racing with the Sportman guys this year. Get those cars loaded up, its time to go racing boys!

Thanks to all that helped on Saturday!

IQSR wants to extend a big thanks to all that were able to make it for Track Clean up on Saturday. We were able to get the walls, the front of the drivers stand, and all of the lines on the track repainted. We also sealed the drivers stand floor and stairs, as well as spread mulch around the scoring shack and bleachers. We also installed a new lighting/horn control box. The track was in very good shape all in all, and is pretty much ready for racing. A special thanks goes out to Brawner's Greenhouses for donating 2 pickup truck loads of mulch. We also need to thank True Value hardware store in Pendleton for donating the paint that we used to paint the track, as well as the walls and the front of the driver's stand. We will include both of their names on the driver's stand banner in appreciation for their support. Holloway Vinyl Signs and Graphics will be adding their names to the banner for us, as well as updating the schedule that hangs on the driver's stand. I have asked Todd to make himself a banner that we will hang on the backstretch for the support that he continues to show the club with signs and banner work. Thanks again to all that showed up and helped get the track ready for the upcoming season! Jon
