Sportsman year in review.
Can't say enough about these guys. The racing was so close, lots of cars every week, C Mains and anyone's race down to the last lap.
Want to thank everyone who raced this series. From the locals to the out of towners who made long drives just to run our local shows.
Greg Hilber comes down and wins the Final Showdown in September.
Bill Herzog won Round 5/7 putting a end to the champs winning streak.
Chris Houge closed the season very strong winning the last two point races , missing perfect nights by 1 point and then dominating the 500.
Our Champ. The #15 of Frank Boling started the season in fire. Frank won the first 5/6 races scoring perfect nights in 4/5. Bolings season Came to a drastic halt as a practice crash ended his season. Frank managed to borrow a car from crown racing in round #9 to clinch the title. He also won the Tri State.
Sprint Car year in review.
This class was unbelievable. Out of 8 point races we had 5 different point winners.
Frank Boling won Round #1.
Bill Herzog wins Round #4.
Todd Holloway wins Round#5 but It was J.R. Parsley who won the tri state. Parsley went on a tear to close the year as he won Round#7 and The NCS. 55 closed out the year by whining the Richard Hineman 150.
Kevin Ligon won #7 on points.
Jerry Brawner once again is Crowned champ as he won 4 races and scored 3 perfect nights. Thank you 88 for keeping this series going at Ingalls.
Limited Sportsman ( The Bush series) year in review.
2015 was a great year for this class as we saw great racing from the rookies, up and comers and some seasoned vets.
Season got off to a great start with Jim Dickey winning the first two races. After that Jim fell off the map and we didn't see much of him.
Scott Rance in his #26 won the last two in points but it was Gregg Grahn taking the back to back Overall wins to close the year as his 11 was not eligible for points.
The man of the year was the #54 of Chris Stump . Chris won two races due to being the only point eligible driver in the field. One by holding out through a crash fest . Came back the next race and won straight up.Then closes out the year with a win in the first annual Bush 100 in the season finale.
Keith Barnes won Round 5 in his #02.
Tri State series winner in impressive fashion was Gabby Allshouse.
NCS winner was the #5 Earl Clement.
ECM year in review.
The East coast modified cars are still a new class for Ingalls and they are steadily getting better and hopefully will continue to grow.
The season started with Brad Boling taking the first two QT and winning the season opener. From there Brad decided to focas on his Sportsman and we lost him in this class.
Mike Sadler from Texas came up and won the NCS in September.
The year belong to the #7 of Jerry Brawner. Pappy won the next 5 club races including the tri state. Pappy scored 4/5 perfect points nights to close the year..

Fox 59 Comes to Ingalls Motor Speedway

Just wanted to give a shout out to Jason Cook, Jerry Brawner, Ron Strubbe and anyone else that I missed for showing some Hoosier Hospitality to Fox 59 reporter Kristen Kane.  She shot the live feed for her segment "Your Town Friday" from Ingalls Motor Speedway, which this week focused on the Town of Ingalls.  This was great publicity for the town, and also for our sport.  We can't thank these guys enough for what they do for the club and the sport!

Check out this video of Kristen showing the town manager Tim Millikan how to wheel a QS around the Mini Madhouse!

Race #1&2 Race Recap. The 2015 1/4 scale racing season is in Full swing at the World Famous Ingalls Motor Speedway. The competition and speeds of these cars and drivers is what makes central Indiana the place to be. Limited Sportsman. Opening weekend was dominated by Young Mason Boling in the #12 car. Boling took the pole and back it up with two (2) heat wins. Mason found trouble in the Main when a crash sent him to the truck. Race #2 was same story different hot rod. New comer Chris Stump in his #4 car took the top spot in time trials and backed it up with heat wins in both rounds. Stump would come up short on getting a Feature win at the " Mini Madhouse" as the #5 of Jim Dickey is 2 for 2 in 2015. Sportsman. The man to beat early on in this super fast, super fun and super competitive " Sportsman series" is the 15 of Frank Boling. Frank has been nearly unbeatable and has scored 431 points out of a possible 436 as Chris Houge takes the week one pole in the last 15 seconds of qualifications to steal the 5 bonus points from Frank. The 15 has won 4 heat races and two features in dominating fashion. Steve Riddle and Jerry Brawner got heat wins at race #2. Mason Boling decided to move up to the big boys and was fast all day as the kid comes home 2nd in his first Sportsman start. Sprint Car. Just one race in the books for the sprinters as Jerry Brawner took the first pile of 2015 then backed it up with a heat win in round #1. From the start of round 2 it was clear who the man to beat was. Frank Boling debuts his 2015 Sprint Car and blows away the competition by winning the 2nd round and running away with the Main. ECM. 2014 limited champ Brad Boling makes his ECM debut by taking time trails then winning round #1 of heat action and concluding his busy day with getting the first feature win of 2015. Ken Lieker in the 0 gets the win in round 2 of heat action. Race #3 is scheduled for June 6th . This is a night race for schedule for the day look under the schedule tab. Gates open at noon. Big news upcoming as Fox 59 will be paying the Ingalls Community a visit and will be spotlighting our lil track. More details coming but looks to be Friday June 5th at 8:30 am. Need everyone who can take the day off and get as many guys, cars and fans out to put on a good showing for the news crew and this is publicity we must take full advantage of.

2015 Season is almost here!

The 2015 season is just weeks away. This past Sunday the winter meeting was held. 4 of the 5 board members were on hand and all votes were unanimous.

 Clean up days:

First clean up day is scheduled for March 28th. If this day gets cancelled then we work on the Sat before Easter April 4th. If we get the 28th in then no work Easter Weekend. Other day is April 11th. As we did last year anyone who comes out and puts in at least 4 hours then we will give 20% off club dues and 1 free entry.

 Schedule:

The 2015 schedule is on the website. This schedule is by No Way set in stone, and is subject to major changes as things develop. The Sportsman 500 is currently on the schedule for October 10th. My intent is that the 500 will be moved to a date the town chooses for the annual Fire Department Hog Roast. I have asked them to consider scheduling it for one of our currently scheduled IQSR race weekends. The 500 will be swapped to that date to help with attendance for this fundraiser, as my mission for 2015 is to raise $ for the fire department. I am hoping that the earlier date will increase attendance for the 500 as well. We need all of your support to show the town that we are an asset, and to help raise money for the local fire department. We will move the affected points race to October 10th. We will be charging $1 more per entry from the start of season until the Hog Roast to help raise money as well. Once I get a firm date from the town, I will finalize all plans and schedule. One last thing on this subject is the Open Wheel Nationals, which is scheduled for Oct 10th. Our last race will be in conflict with that race, but there is only so much I could do with the open dates that were available. IF we do not need to use the October 3rd rain date, we will plan to hold our final points race on October 3rd, and free up the 10th.
