5/13/17 Results

What a beautiful day we had to race at Ingalls Motor Speedway on Saturday. Temps were in the upper 70's and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. We had 25 entries at the "Mini Madhouse" in 4 divisions.

The Sprint Car class was up first and had 4 very fast cars battling it out. Heat races winners were Todd Holloway and Jerry Brawner. The A Main was one for the record books. Holloway and J.R. Parsley raced nose to tail for all 100 laps as they both broke the track record during the race with an identical fast lap time of 5.696! Holloway held on for the win, Parsley was 2nd, Bill Herzog 3rd, and Jerry Brawner had problems and rounded out the 4.

Next up was ECM with a total of 6 entries. Frank Boling had his car on a rail and started on the pole for the A Main. He dominated the race to take the win. John Wachter's car was very fast all day and finished 2nd. Ken Leiker held on for 3rd, Todd Gunder 4th, Keith Barnes 5th, and Tony Wachter was a scratch in the main from an accident in one of the heat races.
The Limited Sportsman Class had 4 entries with a couple of them trying for their first ISQR win. Dave Hamstra led most the race and looked very comfortable on the lead. A late race caution caused him and Gary Wheatley Jr. to get tangled up on a restart and Hamstra manned up allowing Wheatley to get his first "Madhouse" A Main win. Hamstra held on for 2nd, Michigan's James Huever ran 3rd in his very first star at IQSR, and Chris Stump rounded out the 4.
The Sportsman Class had a huge field of 11 cars and was going to be a battle all day. Frank Boling did it again and led the whole field without making a mistake. Steve Riddle was in contention every lap of the race and held on for 2nd as he was just waiting to pounce if Boling made an error. Dave Raber took home 3rd with a very strong car all day. John Foster was 4th, Jerry Brawner 5th, Tony Wachter 6th, Brad Boling 7th, Bill Herzog settled for 8th as these 8 cars all finished on the lead lap. Walter Arthur was 9th, John Wachter 10th, and Gregg Grahn was a scratch for the A Main.
